Madonna and Child

An old card I dug out but I still like it. It uses a photo stamp by Toybox.
Materials used: Black cardstock, gold cardstock, cream cardstock, white glossy cardstock, black dye ink pad, Image by Toybox, pearls, Cross, Organza ribbon, Writing stamp by Hero arts, Gold ink pad
I must say that Toybox probably has the easiest photo stamps I have ever found - they really do stamp perfectly everytime.

Mother and Child

Ooh I am late in posting today. Thinking about puppy princess arriving on Saturday instead of getting down to work.
Today's card features a photo stamp from Toybox.
Materials: Black archival dye ink pad, glossy white paper, black cardstock, black and white dot cardstock, silver magic tape, silver Cherish word, Image by Toybox.
Method: Fold black cardstock in half to create base card. Add a strip of black and white dot paper to the left hand side of card and a strip of silver magic tape to the right hand edge. Take the stamp and make sure that it is entirely clean of any specks. I normally do this by taking double sided tape and taping it across the stamp. Its amazing what little specks it picks up. Then ink up the stamp well use the dye ink pad and stamp onto white glossy cardstock. Remember when photo stamping slow is better - you need firm pressure and allow time for the image to transfer to the paper. Lift off stamp carefully as you will find that photo stamps tend to kind of want to stick to the glossy paper and you practically have to peel off the stamp. Once dry mount onto black cardstock and then to cardfront. Add Cherish word charm and you are done.

Photo Stamping

Thought I would share a photo stamped card today. This card uses image from Toybox whose photo stamps are probably the easiest to use of all the photo stamps I have. I stamped the image onto glossy white cardstock using black archival dye ink pad and heat set. ( I use Novatech for my glossy cardstock) I then coloured in areas of the stamp using water brush and watercolor pencils. I then went around the image with gold pen and attached it to purple and then torn edge gold card and then black and then purple cardstock and then to cardfront. I finished it off with a word charm and three rhinestones. This is one of those images that is great for all occasions including Christmas cards.

Mother and Child

Well its almost time to start thinking of Christmas cards. One has to start early as overseas posting dates are always jolly early. I also generally join RSA Christmas swap and this year we must make 20 or 21 cards. Nothing nicer than having your mantelpiece filled with cards at Christmas.
Here's a Christmas design that I did a few years back and it remains one of my favourite's. Love the colours - Black/White and Silver.
The stamp of Mother and Child is by Toybox and the snowflake stamps and words are by Hero arts.
I started with a black base card. I then stamped snowflakes randomly on front of card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I then added strip of black and silver scroll paper to card front. I then stamped my image of mother and child with Memories Black dye ink onto glossy cardstock and trimmed it leaving a white border so that it looks like a photo. I then mounted it onto black cardstock and went around the edges with a silver pen and then mounted it to cardfront after tucking skeleton leaves in two corners. I then stamped wording onto vellum using black brilliance ink pad and mounted it to cardfront using vellum tape and then added Silver music note and some silver butterflies.
