Stampington Mannequin Card

Another Mannequin card today - adore this stamp. I wanted the stamp a bit larger and whilst its easy to make stamps smaller by using Shrink plastic method, its hard to make a normal stamp larger. So what I finally did was stamped out the image and then scanned it into the computer and enlarged it and then printed it out like a digital image. That way I got it quite a bit larger and it was easier to color and fitted my card better.
Materials: Black cardstock, white cardstock, Pink Bazzil cardstock, Black/white cardstock from Pink Petticoat CD, rhinestones, rose, Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder, Stampington stamp, Black Brilliance ink pad, pink color box ink pad, copic pens and sakura glitter pens.
Method: Fold black cardstock in half. Print out black/white paper onto cardstock and attach to cardfront as shown. Stamp out Stampington image onto white cardstock using black brilliance ink pad and then scan it into computer and enlarge image in a graphics program and print it out again onto white cardstock and go around edges with silver pen and then mount it onto pink bazzil cardstock and go around edges of that with pink color box ink pad and attach to cardfront. Color in image using copic markers and Sakura glitter pens. Use flower punch to punch out three flowers and then run through Big Shot using Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder and then curl the edges of the petals up and attach each layer as shown onto cardfront and add rose in the centre. (Doesn't it make a super flower - love this new punch) add rhinestones and you are done.

Sailing

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I had these little boats in my stash that I bought awhile back and I needed to make a card for a man's birthday who is into yachting so this is what I came up with.
Materials: White cardstock, Patterned blue and white scrapbook paper, Acetate, Blue Staz on ink pad, alcohol inks, brads, yacht, Starfish stamp by Stampington and royal blue color box ink pad, White glossy paper
Method: Fold white cardstock in half to create 14 x 14 base square card. Go around edges of scrapbook paper with blue color box ink pad and attach to cardfront. Attacht yacht. Using your blue Staz on ink pad, stamp Starfish design onto acetate and let it dry thoroughly (I left it overnight). Take glossy white cardstock and smear alcohol inks over it and then when dry (takes a few minutes only) attach it to the glossy cardstock using a small brad in each corner. You can then attach it to the cardfront and you are done. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

Eastern Mystery

A simple card for today as seem to have so much going on at present - still working on my Paint Shop Pro course. Should finish this week. Really amazing how much one can do with the program.
Great excitement as well last night as my hamper of Tim Holtz goodies arrived from Jowilna. Promise will take picture this week and post it. Thanks again Jowilna. I am going to have such fun playing with all the different things.
Materials: Black cardstock, Patterned cardstock, Oriental woman stamp by Stampington, Butterflies, Rhinestones, Chinese writing stamp by Toybox(I think), Black Brilliance ink pad,Lime color box ink pad
Method: For this card I just stamped directly onto the scrapbook paper as I was after a soft dreamy feel to the card. Used Black Brilliance ink pad. I then went around the edges with lime green color box ink pad and attached it to black cardstock and added the bling and the butterflies.

Fairy Tale Couture

Today's card uses one of the new range of Fairy Tale Couture stamps by Sandra Evertson for Stampington. I got mine from Niki Zipp at Paperchain in Johannesburg. The whole range is stunning. Have a look at www.stampington.com
The stamp used is called Ballgown.
I used black cardstock for my base card. I then printed out Black and White papers from Pink Petticoat CD and attached them to cardfront as shown. I took a strip of Lime green cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot using Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder and then attached that to cardfront. I inked the stamp with Black Brilliance and stamped it onto white cardstock and then trimmed to size and went around the edges with pink color box ink pad. I then coloured in the image using Copic markers and attached it to the cardfront. I then attached Prima flowers and rhinestone. I went over the flowers using gold distress stickles using the best paintbrush ever - my finger.

Moments

Wow what a lot of rain we had in Cape Town yesterday - just about needed a boat to get around instead of a car. Still musn't complain as we havn't had much rain this winter.

Well today is a really quick card and note photographed for a change instead of scanned. Sorry about the shadows but still working on photography skills but difficult when you are taking photos late at night.

Todays card using Hero arts word stamp by Children stamp by Stampington.

I used cream cardstock for the base and then took red pattern scrapbook paper and went around the edge with red color box ink pad and attached to cardfront. I then stamped Moments onto it using Black Brilliance ink pad. I then stamped children onto gold vellum using Black Brilliance ink pad and attached to cardfront using vellum tape and then attached flowers with brad.

Card of the day - Oriental Vision

After looking at my cards posted after the past few days, thought it was time for something plainer with no flowers for a change.

I love this stamp from Stampington - it was originally an Acey Deucy stamp. The Chinese Happy Birthday is I think a Stampendous stamp.

I stamped the Stampington Oriental image onto white cardstock using black brilliance ink and then went around the edge with a silver pen. Mounted it onto black cardstock and then took black base card and mounted a 14 x 14 square of scrapbook paper on it and then mounted stamped image on top. I stamped the Happy birthday words also using my Black Brilliance ink pad and then just added 2 rhinestones. After all a girl needs a little bling on her card at least.

So a really simple card today.
