Christmas Cute Companions
Thought I would share a Christmas card today. Crafters Companion in the UK sell a range of stamps and CD's called Cute Companions. All the little mice and bunnies have names and they are rather cute. They also have two DVD full of Christmas ideas using their stamps and CD's.
Today's card makes use of 3 of their stamps and also a backing paper scene decoupage sheet from one of their CD's.
Materials: Cute Companions Rubber Stamps, Black brilliance ink pad, tombow pens and watercolor pencils, clear glitter, snowwriter, Cute Companions Christmas Collection CD, black cardstock, foam pads, white cardstock.
Method: Fold black cardstock in half to create card base. Print out decoupage backing scene from CD and decoupage onto card. Using black brilliance, stamp the 2 mice and squirrel onto white cardstock and color in with watercolor pencils and tombow pens and then cut out and attach to cardfront as shown using foam pads. Use the snow writer to make snow on the branches under the window and ontop of the post box and add clear glitter.

Isn't she cute
Well I am teaching this card today to my card class girls so thought I would share it with you. Hope they don't check the blog before coming to class this morning.
The main stamped image is Daisy by Sugar Nellie. She is just so adorable. The word stamp is by Crafters Companion.
I used black cardstock for the cardbase. I then added layer of Pink Bazzil cardstock after going around the edges with a pink color box inkpad. Next I took some pink pattern scrapbook paper and went around the edges with pink color box ink pad and wrapped pink organza ribbon around the middle and attached that to the cardbase. I then took strip of Pink Bazzil cardstock and stamped words - The scent of a flower is like a kiss from a fairy using Brown Brilliance ink pad and mounted it onto the cardfront. Next I took some Pink Bazzil cardstock and cut out a spellbinders nestabilities label using my big shot and went around the edges with pink color box ink pad and attached that to the cardfront. I stamped the girl image onto cream cardstock using black brilliance ink pad and coloured it with copic markers and highlighted various areas with Stickles glitter glue. I then went around the edges of the image with the pink color box ink pad and attached it to the cardfront. I then added flowers with a jewel brad and some pearls.

The Wardrobe
I thought I would share another card with you that I made from a Papercraft CD - its from one of the Crafters Companion CD's.
The outside of the card looks like a plain wooden wardrobe - sorry I should have taken a photo of it and then when you open the doors to the wardrobe - see image - isn't it fun and so simple to do.
You need to print out the wardrobe itself from the CD and assemble the doors - I used Tim Holtz brass fastners for the door handles. You then print out dresses/shoes/hats etc from the CD and cut them out and decoupage them into the wardrobe using foam pads.
It is one of those cards that looks so much nicer in real life - everyone I have shown it to so far as wanted one. Just such a girl thing.

Flower Fairies

One of my favourite books as a child was The Flower Fairy's. I had a set of 4 different books that I still have today. I have always loved the images of the different fairies and I was thrilled when I heard earlier this year that Crafters Companion was releasing 6 sets of stamps using flower fairy images and also a matching CD with backing papers and decoupage - needless to say I counted the hours from ordering to delivery. I really must compliment Crafters Companion - they offer some really beautiful CD's that are easy to use and jam packed full of decoupage images and background papers and even ATC backers. Even better your order arrives really quickly - I have placed an order before on a Tuesday and received it in my office on Thursday am - not bad from UK to Cape Town....
I have used cream as the base card and then I printed out sheet of flower fairy paper and went around edges with pink colour box ink pad and attached to cardfront. I then took a strip of Pink Bazzil cardstock and stamped words from Crafters Companion onto it using Brown Brilliance ink pad. (sorry scanned badly - says Every little girl wants to be a fairy - definately true in my case) I then attached it as shown. I printed out Rose Flower Fairy decoupage sheet and cut it out and decoupaged fairy using foam pads and attached to cardfront as shown. I then added some flowers which I went over with distress stickles ala Tim Holtz and added some rhinestones.
